Saw a great tip on splitting wood: Put an old tire around the log to keep pieces upright while splitting. Non-radial Indian tires work best.

Cheers to you MotorMac, Love the tire trick my back thanks you as I still split wood by hand I know it's Florida but we still have a few cold hours on a few days

I can see someone miss hitting and the splitter bouncing back and splitting the wrong thing!!

Yes, it actually works. Once you get it setup, it can save a lot of work. Wish I'd heard about it sooner.
